A chance for peace in Western Sahara

Article Abstract:

The possibility of peace in Western Sahara is looking increasingly likely, with opportunities growing for the implementation of the settlement plan negotiated by the Organisation of African Unity and the UN. The UN Security Council (UNSC) and UN General Assembly (UNGA) are urging for the continuation of direct talks to maintain the momentum. Members of the UN, particularly the US, should actively engage in legitimizing bodies such as the UNSC and UNGA to promote the settlement process.
