CSR and equality

Article Abstract:

The article explores impact of CSR being implemented by businesses and its contribution to equality in terms of reducing deprivation, improving equality of opportunity, correcting imbalances in distribution of wealth and social justice. The labor and human right issues are addressed well while, the realization of rights is yet to be achieved.

CSR and regulation: Towards a framework for understanding private standards initiatives in the agri-food chain

Article Abstract:

The article examines and analyzes the Private standards initiatives (PSIs) in context of governance and the institutional and normative governance implications of it. PSI has become a new form of regulation in agri-food chains with retailers and brands adopting them to minimize risks and to meet the new demands of the civil society.

Crossing the boundaries between 'Third Sector' and State: life-work histories from the Philippines, Bangladesh and the UK

The article examines aspects of the life-work histories of individuals who have operated in both the government and third sector or government/public sector in Bangladesh, Phillipines and the United Kingdom. Their experiences are analyzed so that a better understanding can be developed for formulation of development policy.
