Exiled to a liminal legal zone: Are we all Palestinians now?

Article Abstract:

International humanitarian law and international human rights law are the collateral damage of the war on terror and a world without laws is one in which everyone is vulnerable to abuse, powerlessness and the experience of homelessness. Unless this trend is halted and reversed by multilateral and popular efforts, the fate of others will also be like that of Palestinians who are positioned in a liminal political zone in a global system of nation-states for decades.

The politics of human rights

Article Abstract:

An enabling vision of the politics of human rights, a 'principled politics' of human rights, is discussed. There is nonetheless no shortage of commentary on the politics of human rights and begins with a consideration of three commentaries, before moving on to outline an alternative politics of human rights.
