Nuclear terrorism: A disheartening dissent

Article Abstract:

Large private groups such as al-Qaeda or Aum Shinrikyo probably have the resources for the acquisition of nuclear materials and construction of weapons, with facilities for research and development activities, including detonation of high explosives. Aum Shinrikyo did not act with the approval of the Japanese government, and the government did not even react after the group's first open-air-tests of its chemical weapons.

Nuclear power and global warming

Article Abstract:

Nuclear energy could be utilized more widely to help reduce carbon emissions and therefore help alleviate the problem of global warming. Initiatives should be taken to improve safety and to change the public perception of nuclear energy.

A Saudi nuclear option?

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning Saudi Arabia are discussed with emphasis on its nuclear policy. Saudi Arabia is an ally of the United States, but has the capability to build a nuclear deterrent and its security interests may push it into development.
