Russia and the IMF

Article Abstract:

The fall of the Soviet Union has prompted questions from the international community whether the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will continue to supply it with financial aid packages, since the largest one has failed to uplift the Russian economy. The IMF has involved itself in various attempts in stabilizing Russia's political and economic policy to prevent it from further decline. Although assistance from the IMF has been slow, several improvements have recently begun to take shape.

Making the IMF and the World Bank more accountable

Article Abstract:

This article attempts to examine the structure of accountablity of international banking institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. The author is critical of the levels of accountability, recommends some changes, and concludes that the institutions' accountability is at best limited, and therefore their actions should be limited too.
