Saving more than the children: The role of child-focused NGOs in the creation of Southern security norms

Article Abstract:

A study of the role of child-focused NGOs in the creation of Southern security norms and examining the position of children in the same is presented. Children should be involved in the evolution of the security discourse in Southern societies and the best way is through a broader inclusion of the NGOs that fights for their rights during processes of post-conflict resolution and reconciliation.

The role of UN specialised agencies in complex emergencies: a case study of FAO

The UN's Food and Agriculture Organization has the potential ability to be come a major source of international relief in complex emergencies. Its chief limitation is donor reluctance to fund operations that are neither high-profile nor a single kind of relief.

Non-government organizations (NGOs) have little significant impact on the armed conflicts in villages of eastern Sri Lanka. To create effective peace, NGOs need to understand the complex social fabric's military, economic, and political factors.
