The myth of the Caspian 'great game': the real geopolitics of energy

Article Abstract:

The belief that the Caspian Basin's resources will provide energy security to the West has influenced US foreign policy and raised the possibility of conflicts with Russia and Iran. It is argued this belief is erroneous and could undermine the interests of the US and NATO in Russia and Iran. It is also argued that the logistic, political and economic obstacles will prevent the speedy development of Caspian Basin's resources.

Apocalypse never, but the threat is real

Article Abstract:

A study on the threats posed by nuclear, biological or chemical (NBC) terrorism is evaluated. It is argued that the study has four major strengths. These are an emphasis on the social and psychological effects of NBC attacks, clarifications on the casualties resulting from NBC attacks, conditions for the use of NBC weapons by terrorist groups and the prospects of actual mass-casualty attacks by terrorists.

U.S. interests in the Caspian Sea Basin

Article Abstract:

The United States should become more involved in international issues surrounding the exploration of oil in the Caspian Sea Basin. International disputes over access and oil transportation should be discouraged by the US through international diplomacy. A proactive geopolitical policy from the US would avoid restrictive practices and encourage international cooperation.
