An incident at Stanford sparks more dialogue on 'PC' speech

Article Abstract:

Stanford University law student Keith Rabois's verbal harassment of a gay staff member has caused a campus controversy over the limits of free speech. The Jan 19, 1992, incident was investigated by university officials and also held the front page of the Stanford Daily for a week. While the university found Rabois not in violation of its conduct code, many students and staff signed petitions protesting Rabois' behavior. Rabois claims the response to his speech is overzealous and is guided by notions of 'political correctness.'

Articles on Hill/Thomas debate fill USC's spring law review

Article Abstract:

The spring issue of the Southern California Law Review features the most complete collection of essays on the Hill-Thomas hearings. After deciding on this topic, the law review solicited articles, a departure from the normal practice of receiving submissions. Most of the contributors condemn the confirmation hearings and support Anita Hill's version of what happened in strong, direct language, another departure from normal law review practice.
