Are vertical restraints pro- or anticompetitive? Lessons from Interstate Circuit

Article Abstract:

In Interstate Circuit v. United States, the US Supreme Court ruled on the determination of collusion. It is argued that the Court's approach on this issue was inadequate. It is further asserted that restriction on the distributive, or vertical, process are not necessarily anti-competitive.

Antitrust enforcement

Article Abstract:

The Federal Trade Commission's focus on federal health care antitrust enforcement and its implication for consumers, medical providers and insurance companies is discussed. By the end of the Clinton administration controlling medical costs seemed the most important.

Workers' compensation rate regulation: how price controls increase costs

Article Abstract:

The regulation of workers' compensation insurance premiums increases the cost of workers' compensation. It does this by removing incentives for control of workplace safety and health.
