Minor hardships; jailing youths as adults is gaining ground - and so are its critics

Article Abstract:

Evidence that juveniles incarcerated as adults are provided inadequate educational, medical, and social services is discussed. According to Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention figures compiled in 1997, at least 28 states require that juveniles charged with certain offenses be automatically tried as adults.

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the US legal and medical profession's inability to fight bioterrorism are discussed. Vague laws, overlapping jursdictions, and a public health system slow to respond might crippe a response to sudden bioterrorism.
