Article Abstract:

A new keyboard and a case-based software data manager promise increased comfort and flexible power to law firms. The Microsoft Natural Keyboard features flowing curves designed to angle keys to match human anatomy, likely reducing the stress on typists' wrists. Anecdotal evidence indicates it works well. Meanwhile, Gavel & Gown Software has released Amicus Attorney, which successfully melds the categories of Personal Information Mgr and case-mgmt software. Its chief drawback its poor capacity for networking.

Shortcuts to productivity: these time-savers can streamline the operations of any law office

Article Abstract:

A number of new products can streamline law office operations. Computing Strategies Inc's LawPak is a CD-ROM product containing 150 legal shareware programs and computerizing most law office functions. Hewlett Packard's Omnishare allows interactive document conferencing over the telephone. Each party to the conversation has a pen-based LCD tablet for reviewing an annotating documents. Iconovex Corp's Indexicon is an automatic indexing program.

Survival of the techno-savvy: electronic communication for lawyers will be vital in a computerized future

Article Abstract:

Innovations in electronic communication for lawyers continue apace, and Chicago's John Marshall Law School has tried to keep up by retaining Mark Hellmann, former head of the ABA Law Practice Management Section's computer and technology division, to design a computer laboratory to help teach students the technological skills they will need to be better lawyers. Contents of the laboratory are listed.
