Article Abstract:

Attendees at the National Conference on Public Trust and Confidence in the Justice System agreed that public faith in the judicial system needed some serious bolstering and that the system needed to be made more customer-friendly. A 1999 survey by the National Center for State Courts found 3/4 of respondents trusted their local courts at least somewhat, but this was below the confidence ratings respondents gave other government institutions.
