Contextualizing business ethics

Article Abstract:

This article examines how business ethics can be applied to different business models. The author provides a business ethics model that can be applied to four types of corporations: the small, closely held businesses, the large incorporated businesses with concentrated ownership, large publicly held corporations with diffuse ownership, large, publicly held corporations with large blocks of stock held by fund.

The Economic and Ethical Implications of New Technology on Privacy in the Workplace

Article Abstract:

Information technology has significantly decreased the amount of workforce privacy. While employers need to able to monitor their employees for effective production, the rights of workers should also be respected. Ethical guidelines for monitoring workers include providing for personal and public spheres, and designating where each one begins and ends.

From responsible management to responsible organizations: the democratic principle for managing organizational ethics

Article Abstract:

The authors find that employees must take responsibility for providing ethical conditions in their place of employment in addition to managers being ethical in their decisions. Limitations to management being solely responsible for ethics on the shop floor include internalization, effectiveness, and contextualization.
