Toledo 'taken' with Jeep suit; eminent-domain case part of national city trend to attract business

Article Abstract:

Toledo, OH residents have threatened to condemn the Stickney Ave neighborhood to force residents and long-time businesses to move and make room for a DaimlerChrysler AG plant. An eminent domain suit has been filed against those who refuse to move. Toledo had negotiated a $300 mil subsidy package in 1997 to keep Jeep, the Chrysler subsidiary, from leaving town and believes the Stickney Ave residents should be willing to sacrifice for the common good.
