Drawing the line: CompareRite and DeltaView battle to be the best

Article Abstract:

Workshare Technology's DeltaView 2.5 is judged superior in a comparison with Lexis-Nexis' CompareRite 7.1, for purposes of redlining and document comparison. DeltaView has a more up-to-date interface than CompareRite; and it manages table, row, column and cell changes more easily. DeltaView compares formatting changes, including font changes. CompareRite is a good program, but it needs to be upgraded.

No-sweat tables of authorities

Article Abstract:

Lexis-Nexis' FullAuthority software searches briefs and other documents for citations and creates a Table of Authorities. The application is available in two versions, 5.5 for Windows 3.1 and 7.0 for Windows 95 and NT. The Table of Authorities file can be imported into a word processor. FullAuthority is better than working in WordPerfect because citations do not have to be marked with special codes before generating the Table of Authorities. The software is accurate, but there are some formatting problems. These are easily fixed with a WordPerfect macro, although some formatting adjustments may still need to be done by hand. Version 7.0 includes support for WordPerfect 7.0 and Word 97 documents. The list price is $189.

Comparing documents the easy way

Article Abstract:

Lexis-Nexis is offering its CompareRite document caparison software in two versions. Version 5.5 is for Windows 3.1, and version 7.0 is for Windows NT and 95. Both versions do an excellent job of blacklining two documents in a matter of seconds. The software compares two versions of a document and produces a third, in which changes between the two original documents are blacklined. The precision of the comparison can be set at pinpoint, normal, broad or source code. Most formatting codes supported by word processors are available and can be used to highlight additions or deletions. Version 5.5 includes new support for documents containing codes created for WordPerfect 7.0 and new macros that run within WordPerfect 6.x and Word 6.0. The list price for either version is $189.
