Eradicating the pesticide problem in Latin America

Article Abstract:

Pesticide use and misuse in Latin America causes widespread illness and death there and leaves dangerous residues on much of the produce that the region exports to the US and elsewhere. Many of the pesticides used are US exports, and companies can make a number of changes to ensure the safe use of their products. US policy improvements and consumer attention to the safety of food purchased canboth make a difference. New trade agreements have reduced pesticide use elsewhere but increased it in Latin America.

This involves fair treatment of all involved with the company, including vendors and consumers. Coercion should not be used and the benefits of success should be shared. Goals of a just company include offering a desirable setting for employees, success as a business and long-term existence.
