Ethnic differences in intergenerational crime patterns

Article Abstract:

Bangladeshis and Pakistanis in England, who have a lower standard of living than the Afro-Carribeans, also have a lower crime rate than the Afro-Carribeans migrants living there. The reasons attributed to this are the long-term consequences of slavery, their outgoing and integrative lifestyle leading them to encounter more discrimination, a sequence of hostile interactions between young Afro-Carribeans and the police and their oppositional and confrontational identity.
