Gradual integration: An attractive alternative integration process for Turkey and the EU

Article Abstract:

An outline of further course of negotiations, and a discussion of the Privileged Partnership, the model of Gradual Integration is outlined after a critical analysis of the European Union's Resolution on Turkey. Gradual Integration, elaborated for the first time in August 2005, could develop into a realistic option for integration beyond full membership for the EU as well as for Turkey.

Conflicts between the disciplines of EC state aids and WTO subsidies: of books, ships and aircraft

Article Abstract:

The conflicts between the regulation of state aids in the European Commission (EC) and World Trade Organization's (WTO) rules on subsidies are investigated. Potential or actual cases where conflicts could arise, such as in the exportation of books or the manufacture of ships and aircraft, are discussed.

Exporting the acquis communautaire into the legal system of third countries

Article Abstract:

The article explores the substantive and procedural means of exporting the European Union's (EU) 'acquis communautaire' into the legal systems of third countries. It is concluded that these means are not uniformly applicable, but are exercised according to the specific goals of EU external agreements.
