Hastening death is a person's right

Article Abstract:

The right of terminally ill patients to control the time of their deaths and to request physician assistance in so doing is an important issue and those who do not agree with this right must not force their views on others. The US Supreme Court has received petitions for certiorarie in the cases of Compassion in Dying v. State of Washington and Quill v. Vacco, from the US Courts of Appeals for the 9th and 2nd Circuits, respectively, finding a constitutional basis for physician assistance in dying. The Hemlock Society has drafted legislation on this issue. The 9th Circuit ruling stated that state law was desirable.

Enviro ruling limits suits by citizens; 4th Cir. as already rejected case, citing Supreme Court

Article Abstract:

The Supreme Court in Steel Co. v. Citizens for a Better Environment tossed out a suit against a Chicago comapny that had for almost a decade neglected to file reports to government agencies required by the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986 about the chemicals it stored. Environmentalists fear that the Steel Co decision will discourage public interest groups from tracking down violators.
