A new chapter

Article Abstract:

The primary intent of the pending bankruptcy law, to make the discharge of debts under Chapter 7 of the US Bankruptcy Code and to force debtors into Chapter 13 repayment plans, is discussed. The law would also use a means test and certification to hold lawyers responsible for the accuracy of clients' financial information.

Just what the doctor ordered; hospital on-site legal services programs help address legal ills of children

Article Abstract:

Programs offering free legal services to qualifying parents of patients at childrens' hospitals are discussed. Only a few childrens' hospitals offer these programs so far, wnr they most frequently help families apply for government services.

Article Abstract:

Some of the reaction to the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks of 2001 is discussed. Former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge was chosen as the director of the new White House Office of Homeland Security and the Senate passed the Combating Terrorism Act of 2001, and proposals to extend the investigatory powers of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 have already been suggested.
