Litigation management in the next millenium: surviving the casualty insurance crisis

Article Abstract:

Casualty insurers in the US are lowering litigation expenses by adopting various Litigation Management Programs. LMPs involve a timely evaluation of the type of litigation required and the amount to be expended. Defense counsels usually receive the case from a claims technician. LMP compliance is subject to legal and billing audits. Defense counsel working under an LMP system are obliged to upgrade their computer skills and maintain good communication with claims counsel.
