Murphy's Law and computer security

Article Abstract:

Both practitioners and businesses need to be aware of the many risks that threaten the security of computer systems. Power problems are the most common cause of computer data loss and surge protectors only protect against power surges, so most businesses should invest in uninterruptible power supplies. Back-up files should be stored at a remote site to prevent loss due to fire or flood. Anti-virus software should be employed, particularly if employees use the Internet.
