Vermont Agency of Natural Resources v. United States ex rel. Stevens is discussed, and is a case pending before the US Supreme Court with the issue of whether the 11th Amendment permits relators to sue states for fraud against the federal government.

Issues are discussed regarding The US Supreme Court ruling in Friends of the Earth v. Laidlaw on citizens' ability to sue to enforce environmental laws. Enough fear of environmental harm that plaintiffs stopped using the river in question was ruled sufficient evidence of injury

Not under my roof you don't; courts split on religious liberty vs. discrimination in landlord/tenant disputes

Article Abstract:

Two courts reached opposite conclusions in cases charging landlords refusing to rent to unmarried couples for religious reasons with violations of civil rights. The Michigan Supreme Court ruled in the 1998 case of McCready v. Hoffius that the Michigan civil rights law did not violate constitutional religious liberties guaranteed the landlords.The US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit held in Thomas v. Anchorage Equal Rights Commission that the state's marital-status discrimination law could not be enforced against landlords refusing to rent to unmarried couples for religious reasons.
