Inexpert witness; lies, resume fraud takes down 'expert' before he takes stand again

Article Abstract:

The story of purported expert burn witness Gary S. Stocco is given, who was retained as an expert a number of times before being unmasked as guilty of perjury and resume fraud. Red flags to look for to unmask those guilty of resume fraud are given.

Under covered; proponents say fewer lawyers will go bare if forced to disclose their insurance status

Article Abstract:

States which have mandatory disclosure rules for lawyers' malpractice insurance are discussed. South Dakota, Virginia, Alaska and Ohio are examples, with Ohio the most recent. The ABA Standing Committee on Client Protection has proposed a rule stating that lawyers must notify clients if they chose to forgo a minimum coverage.

Split-up insurance; postnups are gaining in popularity for couples in property predicaments

Article Abstract:

The development of postnuptial agreements for married couples in difficult financial situations or inheritance arrangements who were married before prenuptial agreements were available is discussed. Although not as common as prenuptial agreements, these contracts are being increasingly used by less affluent couples in second or third marriages with property from a prior union.
