Moving into the driver's seat; roadblocks to equality falling, subtle barriers persist

Article Abstract:

Reports for the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession are discussed and suggest that women attorneys still face difficulties but are having more influence on the profession in terms of factors such as sheer numbers. One report suggests that 30% of attorneys are women and most of the law students starting this fall promise to be women.

The right equation; despite increasing numbers of female lawyers, gender equality may not be guaranteed in the future

Article Abstract:

The low rates of promotion and other problems remaining for female attorneys even after their increase in the legal profession are discussed. Causes include traditional gender stereotypes, sexual harassment, and inflexible workplace structures.
