Article Abstract:

Carrie E Dwyer, the exec vice pres for corporate oversight at the Charles Schwab Corp, is responsible for global regulatory oversight of all of Schwab's international and domestic business. Her legal group comprises 32 lawyers, and she also supervises a 100-employee compliance department. Dwyer believes in moving as much work as possible in-house. Dwyer states that most of her new attorneys have been general counsel at small companies or law firm partners.pcd

He jumped at a bid to work at eBay

Article Abstract:

Michael Jacobson, vice pres, secretary and general counsel of eBay, did not hesitate before his lateral move from Palo Alto, CA's Cooley Godward, feeling it would take the company less than a decade to rise to Fortune 500 level. Jacobson's responsibilities include legislative work to develop rules for electronic commerce, watching changes in intellectual property law and proposed legislation involving minors and the Internet.
