Some grumble over implant pact; but approval is expected

Article Abstract:

Some of the women claiming injury from silicone breast implants are dissatisfied with Dow Corning Corp's settlement offer, but observers still expect the settlement to be approved. Dow is proposing $4.75 billion to settle the pending claims of approximately 12,000 women. Some of the women claim the proposal is not high enough in view of probable medical costs. The Association of Trial Lawyers of America's Breast Implant Litigation Group predicts many women may opt out due to the insufficient settlement fund.
