The construct of psychopathy

Article Abstract:

Psychopathy can be reliably and validly measured with such behaviors as callousness, impulsivity, sensation seeking, juvenile delinquency, and so on, and is found to exist in women, men, children, and in various racial and ethnic groups. Psychopaths can exhibit subtle neurological, physiological, and cognitive differences compared with other people, but it is unclear whether these differences constitute defective brain function or the execution of a viable life strategy.

Procedural justice, legitimacy, and the effective rule of law

Article Abstract:

Studies reveal that there is considerable evidence to suggest that the key factor in shaping public attitude is the fairness of the processes legal authorities use when dealing with members of the public. A study demonstrates that process-based models have substantial influence and can be the basis for effective strategies of regulation, based upon sensitivity to public concerns about fairness in the exercise of legal authority.
