Firm sued for 'Ponzi' scheme; 700+ investors involved

Article Abstract:

Goodwin v. Glickman is a federal securities fraud suit by a large group of real estate investors. The suit charges defendants including Mitchell, Silberberg and Knupp and a former partner, Robert C. Kopple, with helping a financially troubled property mortgage firm who was a long-time client perpetrate a Ponzi scheme which defrauded investors and caused them to lose large sums of money.

Penny-stock king lands in jail; ran Blinder, Robinson

Article Abstract:

Meyer Blinder, penny-stock magnate, was convicted of six counts of securities fraud and racketeering on Jul 10, 1992. Blinder perpetrated his fraud by marketing the stock of shell companies created by co-conspirators at prices determined by himself rather than market forces. Four of his six co-defendants either pled guilty or turned state's evidence.
