Waco tragedy spawns litigation

Article Abstract:

Wrongful death suits over the fire which destroyed the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, TX and took some 80 lives on Apr 19, 1993 have begun. David Coale, the plaintiff's attorney in the first case filed, has sued the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, alleging that the fire was a foreseeable result of the government's 51-day siege outside the compound.

Implants for men under fire

Article Abstract:

The Assn of Trial Lawyers of America has formed a group to specialize in litigation concerning defects in penile implants. Both these and breast implants use silicone, which may be a cause of immune system problems. Malfunctions in penile implants have also caused infections and a need for more surgery. No successful class actions have been filed in this area.
