Who is seeking to use ADR? Why do they choose to do so?

Article Abstract:

A study of approximately 3,000 disputants revealed factors that predict willingness to engage in alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Disputants most readily agree to ADR early in disputes and at the trial or hearing stage. Disputants will likely agree to ADR when they are familiar with ADR procedures, believe ADR is fair and believe ADR will save time.
