Covering your local electric co-op

Article Abstract:

The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) formerly known as the Rural Electrification Administration has been instrumental for the success of electric cooperatives across the country. The RUS has been providing below-market rate loans to co-ops specially to areas where private utilities refused to provide service in the past. It was recently authorized by the Clinton administration to supervise co-ops that handle water and sewer service and electric and telephone co-ops.

Covering the Klan

Article Abstract:

Patsy Sims published her book 'The Klan' in 1978 thinking at that time that the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was already a historical curiosity. Her book, however, turned out to be an account of the activities of the KKK in the mid- seventies. The book revealed the people behind the movement, the organizations which were formed to counter act and the issues which led to its decline.
