Article Abstract:

The National Marine Fisheries Service in Florida had kept an inventory of all marine mammals in captivity for more than 30 years that indicated huge records of births and deaths of marine stars with the causes of death being chlorine poisoning, heat stress, bad fish, capture shock, and stress during transit. It also revealed reasons such as questionable veterinary care and inexperienced staff for the federal government rejecting other Florida marine parks for a stranded dolphin calf.
