Millimeter gravity and the superstring wall

Article Abstract:

A consideration of the possibility that there may be extra-dimensional millimeter-sized loops in physics is presented. German mathematician Theodor Kalusa demonstrated a fifth dimension to Einstein's theory of general relativity in 1919, with observers later suggesting the dimension could be hidden.

The atom laser

Article Abstract:

The demonstration of an atom laser in 1997 marked a breakthrough in experimental physics. The real atom laser differs from its counterpart in science fiction stories as it will likely be used as a tool for investigating Nature rather than as a weapon of mass destruction.

The "real world" and the standard model

Article Abstract:

The Standard Model parameters of nuclear particles go a long way toward defining the entire universe. A small change in any of these parameters would result in a universe radically different from the one we inhabit.
