BSkyB settles Reuters row

Article Abstract:

BSkyB and Reuters Television have settled their long-running legal conflict via an out-of-court settlement. The conflict arose from BSkyB's allegation that Reuters had violated their multi-million pound contract by limiting the resources it allocated daily to the Sky News news channel. Under the settlement agreement, Reuters will continue to manage Sky News' news gathering operation in the UK, but Sky News will have to pay for news coverage outside the UK. A new contract is anticipated to be formalized in the second week of June 1998 to exist until April 2000, when the original contract is set to expire.
