HTV profit hike but shares dip amid merger 'denial.'

Article Abstract:

ITV regional broadcasting operation HTV saw pre-tax profits of 12.1 million pounds sterling in 1995, up by 66% from 1994. However, its shares have fallen in value in the wake of rumours that it is a takeover target. This has been denied by the company. It emphasises that it is now a medium-sized media concern, rather than simply an ITV licence holder.
