CNNI hails rise in its original commissions

Article Abstract:

CNN International (CNNI) President Chris Cramer announced the company currently commissions 90% of its own material, up from 1996 when CNNI commissioned 50% of its own material. Cramer added that since 1996, when he joined CNNI, the channel has commenced to air opt-outs in German and become less 'US-centered.' Aside from German, CNNI will also air opt-outs in other non-English languages, but Cramer declined to stress the languages that he is considering. The audience of CNNI has switched away from hotel viewing to 80% home viewing, commented Cramer.
