Censorship and freedom of the press under changing political regimes: Palestinian media from Israeli occupation to the Palestinian authority

Article Abstract:

The Palestinian media in the West Bank and Gaza Strip is examined in order to understand how censorship functions in an environment of changing political realities and the impact of censorship on matters related to freedom of the press. In this relation, the period of Palestinian self-governance under the Palestinian Authority and the period of Israeli military rule are assessed.

Market or party controls?: Chinese media in transition

Article Abstract:

A study examines grounded theory based on the changes of the past 20 years from the year 2005, in the Chinese media system as a result of the economic reforms. The observations have reported that Chinese media system is moving from totalitarianism to market authoritarianism.
