Children's and animated television productions are seen as an area of increasing importance in the UK television broadcasting industry. Granada is planning to open its own studio dedicated to the creation of new animated productions. The high price of animation production has led to some companies forming alliances, to fund new projects. Scottish Television Enterprises is looking for funding from foreign companies, in order to pay for animation productions. Harvest Entertainment has been involved in a joint venture with Warner Bros, to make a series of animated programs.
