City-TV treads Mersey beat

Article Abstract:

City-TV has been operating for one year in Liverpool, United Kingdom, (UK), and two companies are competing with each other for the top position. Channel One is owned by the Daily Mail and General Trust. Live TV is owned by Mirror Group and both services reach 79,000 homes. Live TV has a 1.41% audience share against 0.5% by Channel One. Both companies agree that there is a demand for local news channels in Liverpool. Channel One runs half-hour news bulletins 24 hours per day plus other features while Live TV shows half-hour slots of local news and other material from London, UK.
