The UK television broadcasting industry is facing a multiplatform revolution, and independent production companies are embracing new technologies in order to increase competency. Companies are employing various ways to address issues such as digital rights, cross-platform storytelling, podcasting and web-TV. Other multiplatform issues are discussed.

The challenges faced by the news providers in the current changing scenario of television broadcasting industry are analyzed. Evidences from television audience ratings show that the viewers demand more of rolling news with spontaneity and immediacy of "what", "where", and "when" coverage.
