Communicating and interacting with Oregon's coastal marine recreational fishing community

Article Abstract:

The factors that affect communication between Oregon's coastal marine recreational community and the fisheries management community are discussed. The article also suggests that improvements to current communication would be beneficial to both communities and the future of fishery resources.

New Asian carp genus(Hypopthalmichthys) in Lake Erie

Article Abstract:

A 17.5 Kg, 927mm Asian carp (genus Hypopthalmichthys) was captured on October 2000 by a commercial trapnet fisherman in the shallow waters near west of Point Pelnee, Ontario. This fish represented the first record for genus in Canadian waters and the third for Lake Erie.

Idaho chapter meets in Boise

Article Abstract:

The Idaho chapter of the American Fisheries Society met in Boise in February 2007. The meeting attracted 270 registrants and proce eded for two and a half days.
