Congress briefed as Klamath River turns green

Article Abstract:

Photographs of bright green reservoirs were shown to members of the U.S. Congress during a briefing designed to obtain support for the removal of the Klamath dam. The briefing focused on the dangerous levels of toxic algae in the Klamath River. Sampling results from the Karuk Tribe were presented, and it was confirmed that the bright green sheen covering the river is Microcystis aeruginosa, a toxic algae.
