Foggitt quits Ardent for solo career

Article Abstract:

Ardent Productions will lose the services of Eben Foggit, who has resigned as managing director, to form his own production firm. John Plunkett wrote that Foggit co-founded Ardent with Prince Edward in 1993. Foggit said his split from Ardent was not triggered by any bitter wranglings and stressed that he merely wanted to pursue other programming concepts. Ardent's first three years were reportedly marked with losses but the company was able to negotiate a 2-million British pounds sterling drama, which is an adaptation of "The Cater Street Hangman."

Essential Pictures on brink of funding deal

Article Abstract:

Essential Pictures is expected to secure a long-term funding from an undetermined company in a deal that could include a sale and a contract. Essential managing director Robin Clarkson, however, refuse to disclose other terms and conditions of the negotiations. Essential, reportedly, secured debt liabilities amounting to around 280,000 pound sterling after its client, Eurochampions, a film distribution company, dropped from its portfolio of customers. Eurochampions was apparently having problems after it failed to secure more investors.

Resources confirms job losses

Article Abstract:

BBC Resources will lay off 92 more people in line with efforts to cut its expenses by more than three million pounds sterling and informed its workforce that more cuts may be needed. The layoffs will be focused on its post production and graphic design departments, most of whom will be from the directorate's loss-making offline editing operation. The downsizing specifically involves getting rid of 30 chief film editors, dissolving 15 assistant film editor offices and ignoring vacant offline positions.
