GMTV set to avoid police probe despite 2 million pound fine

Article Abstract:

Scotland Yard announced that it will not carry out an investigation on GMTV, which had received a 2 million pound fine from Ofcom, unless the regulatory commission files a request to do so. Ofcom claimed that GMTV was "irresponsible and negligent" in its personal response system (PRS) competitions with telecommunications company Opera. The three key areas of misconduct that led to Ofcom's judgment are also given.
