Emap's Bauer deal poses new questions for Global

Article Abstract:

It is speculated that Global Radio will look for other consolidation targets, as Emap Radio was purchased by German magazine company H Bauer. H Bauer spent 422 million pounds sterling on Emap Radio and a total 1.14 billion pounds sterling on parent company Emap PLC. Industry insiders' views on the strategies of Global and Bauer are also given.

Pressure rises at GCap

Article Abstract:

Radio industry insiders believe that GCap Media shareholders might be compelled to sell the business due to tough economic conditions and a highly competitive advertising market. Issues started to surface after GCap's board rejected Global Radio's bid to takeover the company and it failed to inform its shareholders.
