Growing up fast

Article Abstract:

UK animators are hoping to break into the television market which is dominated by US film makers, such as the Simpsons. The 1998 Vital International Animation Festival will launch an animated dog series, produced by Aardman Animations which makes Wallace and Gromit. Adult animation pushes the boundaries of programme making but needs time to develop into a series which audiences can understand and sympathies with. Animation programme makers are calling for broadcasters to take a long-term view of adult animation.
