In the line of fire

Article Abstract:

UK Members of Parliament (MPs) are calling for the abolition of the television watchdog organization, the Independent Television Commission (ITC) as part of an industry reorganisation in the face of digital television. The ITC has pledged to work more closely with the Office of Fair Trading and the Office of Telecommunications, after concerns had been raised over ITC's ability to deal with the complex issues surround digital television. Industry officials are supporting the ITC in its bid to remain industry watchdog.
