It takes two to make a team

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the influence of a 1995 book about the relationship between the media and the military, "America's Team: The Odd Couple," are examined, focusing on the formal efforts the US military took to engage the book and the little response the book received from the news media. Topics include the use of the book at the US Naval Academy, meetings between the authors of the book and military officials, the constant and changing nature of military-media relationships, and the need for cooperation between the media and the military in order to serve the public.
