LWT's Mr "Sleaze"

Article Abstract:

UK television station London Weekend Television (LWT) factual controller Jim Allen has been accused of lowering standards of British television by producing programmes which pander to the masses and offer no intellectual stimulation. Allen claims audiences enjoy popular documentaries because they reveal the lifes of normal people. The aim of television producers is to uncover interesting subject matter for programmes to be made from. The influence of lifestyle programmes will do more to lower standards, according to Allen.

Article Abstract:

Holmes's show reached 4 million viewers while under ITV, and he plans to reach 3 million in the near future under Channel Seven.
